Ruth Althea (McClain) Dolan

Ruth Althea McClain Dolan age 82, went to be with the Lord, on Sunday July 7th, 2019. Ruth was born August 7, 1936 in Republic PA.

She was predeceased by husband, Lawrence B. Dolan; mother, Edna McClain Monovich; father, James R. Guy; stepfather, Joseph Monovich; grandparents, Jess and Blanche McClain, George and Olive Culp; brother, James N. Guy. 

Ruth is survived by her three sons: Douglas Dolan and wife Vicki, Lawrence (Larry) Dolan and wife Sherri, John Dolan and girlfriend Amie Lucosh; grandchildren: Morgan and wife Courtney, Chad, Alysia, Myles, and Jessica; great grandchildren: Caleb, Gabriel, Judah, and Liam; brothers: Thomas Monovich and wife Claudia, Joseph Monovich and wife Joanne; sister, Linda Porterfield and husband Dan; sister-n-law, Lucy Guy; special niece, Suzie Lowman. 

Ruth graduated from Redstone High School in 1956 and was employed at the old Brownsville Hospital for ten years. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Republic, holding many offices, including the first elected women Elder, and also the first woman Chairperson. Ruth belonged to the Jaycettes, and the Women’s Democratic Club. 

Ruth was married to the love of her life Lawrence, for thirty years before his death. They would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this week on July 10th. 

Ruth’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA 15475. Additional visitation will take place at the First Christian Church of Republic from 9 -10 a.m. on Friday followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor, Charles House, officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
