Andrew E. Olesko, Jr.

Andrew E. Olesko Jr., affectionately known as “Bugs”, age 84 of Adah, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Republic, PA, on July 12, 1939, the son of Andrew Sr. and Elsie (Winterhalter)Olesko.

Andy could always be found with a good cup of coffee, sneaking sweet treats to his grandchildren, playing with his beloved dogs, fixing vehicles, waving a handkerchief to a polka at weddings, playing records, watching the Steelers and Pirates games, camping and pulling fresh vegetables from his garden. Proudly, he also worked at E.W. Bowman for more than 35 years. Above all, he cherished every moment with his family and friends.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings, George, James, William, and Marie.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Leona Joyce (Beatty) Olesko, and his four children, Laura (Paul) Buckel, Andrea (Bob) Nelson, Diana (Chris) Bittinger and Randy (Heather) Olesko. He is also survived by his siblings, Albert, Arlene and Kathy. Andrew was a proud grandparent to 16 grandchildren: Paul, Jacob, Julianne, Joshua, Emily, Jonathan, Chelsea, Jesse, Brandon, Amanda, Jessica, Brianna, Christopher, Blake, Colton and Garrett. He also had 6 great-grandchildren.

Andrew’s family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc. 20 N Mill Street, New Salem, PA. and Friday February 9, 2024, when prayers of transfer will be held at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s (Nativity) Church (61 N Mt Vernon Ave, Uniontown, PA). Interment will follow in Mt St Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA. We welcome you to join us in the celebration of Andrew’s life.
