Antoinette "Toni" (Magazine) Bookshar

Antoinette (Toni) Bookshar, 76 of Republic, PA passed away on December 15, 2023, with her loving children by her side. She was born June 5, 1947, in Uniontown Hospital, PA, a daughter of Frank and Caroline Magazine.

In addition to her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Bookshar; brother, Michael Magazine; sister, Francine Pavone and her husband Edward Pavone.

Antoinette graduated from Mt. St. Macrina Academy in 1965.

Antoinette was a member of the former Holy Rosary Church in Republic. She served 3 years as a member of the Republic Rotary Club, she was also an active member of the Republic Chamber of Commerce for 10 years where she served as treasurer for 2 terms, secretary for one term and vice president for two terms. She was a Redstone Township auditor, and a member of TOPS. Antoinette is currently a member of St. Therese Church, Uniontown, PA. 

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Lori DiCenzo and husband Bill of Uniontown; son, Robert Bookshar of Turtle Creek; sister, Rosalie Golembiewski of Fairchance; sister in law, Rosemary Magazine of Adah; grandson, Anthony DiCenzo; step grandsons: Ryan DiCenzo of Uniontown, Steven DiCenzo of Greensburg, and Dustin DiCenzo (deceased); great step grandson, Kannon DiCenzo; in-laws, Joseph & Ruth Bookshar, Brad & Sue Bookshar, Barry & Ann Bookshar, Bonnie Bookshar, Dave & Donna Enrico, & Randy Bookshar; many nieces and nephews.  

Antoinette’s family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA where a Blessing Service will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Church, 61 N. Mount Vernon Ave. Uniontown, Pa. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Republic, PA.

Antoinette and her family would like to send a sincere thank you to all of those involved with her care, especially Dr. Atluri, Jill Natale and the staff at WVU Cancer Institute of Uniontown, Fred Gaggaini and the staff at Redstone Rehab, the staff at Mt. Macrina, and her personal caretakers Rene Brown, Bettsy Mattie, Cindy Assad, and Debbie Valeri.
