Michael John Maleta

Michael John Maleta, 75 of Grindstone, PA passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born February 17, 1951 in Fairbank PA to Anna and Michael J Maleta. Sr.

In addition to his father, he was proceeded in death by his wife of 35 years, Beverly J Dirda Maleta; father-in-law Joseph Dirda and wife Brenda; brothers in law: Joseph M Dirda, Gary Schaible.

Surviving are his mother, Anna Maleta; sons: Michael of Brownsville, Daniel and wife, Michelle and their four children: Brady, Brendan, Brantley & Braylyn all of Grindstone; sisters: Mary Ann Mayers of Grindstone. Joan Kopacko and husband Andrew of Republic; brothers-in-law: David Dirda, Dwight Schaible and wife, Daffinn of New Hampshire; sister-in-law, Nancy, Jenkins and husband David of Pittsburgh; his fiancé, Denise, Patterson of Grindstone; several nieces and nephews.  

Michael proudly served his country in the U S Navy.

Michael’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2026 in the Kish Fabry Funeral Home, Inc. 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
